Anyone with even a slight interest in Motorsport associates the Subaru brand with Rallying, and rightly so. Subaru have a rich heritage in Rallying starting in the 1980′s with the old RX Turbo, often with Possum Bourne at the wheel, progressing to the RS Liberty/Legacy’s of Vatanen, McRae and Burns,  through to the potent high horsepower WRX and STi derivatives competing in the hands of Sainz, McRae, Kankkunen, Hirvonen and Solberg.

Here at S Technic we are no strangers to Rallying either.  Doug and Damien regularly compete in their WRX’s in both the WA Rally Championship on gravel and in various Tarmac Rallies as well as different Speed Events and Hill Climbs.  Doug can be seen at Targa West each year chasing other competitors at the wheel of the Camera Car.

Doug’s most recent achievement is coming 2nd outright and winning a coveted Experts Cup at the recent Experts Cup Rally in Collie in June 2011.  He cherishes the Experts Cup almost as much as his “The Stig” award from the RS Liberty National Meeting in Tasmania earlier in 2011.

Basil and David also compete but at a much more leisurely, albeit still spirited, pace in Khanacross, Autocross and Motorkhana’s with “Audrey”, our affectionately named Aubergine/Mauve/Purple/Mud coloured bunky 1.8L non turbo front wheel drive Impreza  hatch of dubious horsepower
